Disney Offering Weddings inside Magic Kingdom

April 29, 2016 by Patrick Reikofski 15 Comments

Many have dreamed of getting married at Walt Disney World, but now that dream became even bigger:  Disney now offers couples the opportunity to get married INSIDE the Magic Kingdom, right in front of Cinderella Castle!

Magic Kingdom Wedding 8

In an exclusive to USA Today, Korri McFann of Disney Weddings says “brides will be able to live out a fairy tale dream like no other.”

Just imagine:

It’s your wedding day, and you ride up Main Street U.S.A. in Cinderella’s horse-drawn carriage accompanied by bewigged, royal coachmen. A vintage jitney has already deposited your husband-to-be at the Magic Kingdom’s hub. Trumpeters herald your arrival, and your wedding guests stand. You make your way to the altar in a lush garden with the majestic Cinderella Castle rising behind you.

Disney will offer weddings in the East Plaza Garden (think the new “fake grass” area in the hub in front of the Plaza Restaurant).  Weddings will be available for couples beginning at 9:30 AM.  The Plaza Garden area can accommodate up to 100 guests for the special occasion.  Magic Kingdom will be open during this time to regular, and McFann didn’t elaborate how many weddings would be held in a single day in this same spot.

Magic Kingdom Wedding 5

Previously, the only other spot inside the Magic Kingdom available for wedding sites was the train station, but weddings were only offered in the early morning hours well before the park opened.

Magic Kingdom Wedding 6

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings package collections start at $2,500, and custom experiences begin at $12,000. Premiere locations such as the Magic Kingdom, with a completely customized ceremony and reception for 100 guests, start at $75,000. For more pricing and options, visit www.disneyweddings.com.

Did you read that?  $75,000 to get married in front of Cinderella Castle.  It’s a one of a kind wedding with a one of a kind price!

Even if I had $75k, I’m not so sure I’ll want to spend it all for a wedding at Disney World. I’d rather take it and travel the world, but it would be nice to ATTEND a wedding there. 🙂

Oh boy, this is awesome. I got married in Vermont, and I think it’s too late for me, but I’m a professional photographer and this would be a dream job to get!
