As many of you know, Epcot is Patrick’s and my favorite park and when the International Flower & Garden Festival {#FlowerandGarden} is here, well I feel like I found a little bit of Eden here in Florida. With all the flowers, ideas for outdoor spaces, food and topiaries it brings every inch of Epcot alive with color!
Well, last Saturday there was a press event for the International Flower and Garden Festival and sadly I wasn’t invited personally, but Fantastically I got to attend as a guest of Janice from The Adult Side of Disney. I can’t even say thank you enough to her for inviting me to attend with her. The event took place on the second floor of the Festival Center in Epcot. This particular location is one of my personal favorite meeting and event spaces in Disney World. I just love the setup of it and the location.
The main aspect of this press event was to introduce the flavors of the 2014 International Flower and Garden Festival. While some people wonder why the Flower and Garden Festival are including so many food items, and why there is emphasis on food at all, I get it. Epcot grows so much of the food that is served in the Walt Disney World Resort. Everything from lettuce, to tomatoes and even pumpkins! It makes perfect sense to highlight the tastes of the food you can grown so easily in your garden, as well as the wines and drinks that come from the plants, herbs and flowers we all cherish for their beauty.
We had the opportunity to enjoy samplings of several of the Festivals food offerings and beverages. It was nice to taste the food offerings as the chefs and Disney meant for them to be served, allowing me to do true comparisons as to what is served in the park. As we will be tasting everything at the festival this year since Pat’s parents will be joining us the first week of April to experience #EpcotinSpring for the first time. We are gifting them a Festival gift card to use at each of the 11 Outdoor Kitchens. I can’t wait to share this experience with them!
The Outdoor Kitchens Include:
The Smokehouse: Barbeque and Brews – American Adventure Courtyard
Urban Farm EATS – World Showcase
Jardin de Fiestas – Mexico
Intermissions Café
Pineapple Promenade – World Showcase Promenade
The Buttercup Cottage – United Kingdom
Fleur de Lys – France
A Taste of Marrakesh – Morocco
Hanami – Japan
Primavera Kitchen – Italy
Florida Fresh – World Showcase
Lotus House – China
That food looks wonderful! I’m hoping to visit the festival someday.
Wow – great event, but even better food! I love Epcot this time of year. Thanks for linking up!
Oh I need more information on that bacon cupcake!
It was delicious, strong on the smoke flavor though. I do plan on enjoying one or two more of them though… they are from The Smokehouse in the America Pavilion – http://temporarytourist.com/epcots-the-smokehouse-outdoor-kitchen-flowerandgarden/
Looks like such a neat event! It seems like we always end up in Florida right AFTER this event is over. 🙁 Maybe one of these years . . .
I never knew how wonderful it was until last year and it I would say for me, it rivals Food & Wine.
