Food and Wine Festival – Mexico Marketplace

September 28, 2013 by Aunesty Reikofski 4 Comments

Day one of the International Food and Wine Festival was today, and we stopped in for lunch.  Truthfully, Patrick drug us in for his Shrimp Tacos at the Mexico Marketplace.  He has been talking about these since last year’s Food and Wine Festival.

What we weren’t expecting was the outstanding aroma from the  new Taco de Rib-Eye with Salsa de Chipotle.  WOW did they smell and look fabulous!  We didn’t try them though, we stuck to our tried and true Shrimp Tacos.

Again, these tasty tacos were mouth wateringly good!  The shrimp was deep fried in a light breading, covered with purple cabbage, guacamole and a fantastic chipotle dressing.  I used my lime wedge to add a little zest to it, Patrick didn’t.

Once again, we found that these Shrimp tacos from the Mexico Marketplace is a Festival Must Have!

The Offerings and prices at the Mexico Marketplace:

To eat:

  • Shrimp taco with purple cabbage – $5.50
  • Taco de ribeye with salsa de chipotle – $5.50
  • Rice pudding – $3.50

To drink:

  • Dos Equis Beer – $8.50
  • Sangria – $6.75
  • Tequila Flight – $12.50
  • Mango-Habanero Margarita – $8.50
