Heading to Foster NE July 18, 2012

We are never on time let alone early anymore.  Not since the babies… But this morning we managed to beat our goal by thirty minutes!  I said I wanted to be on the way to Angel’s by 10am, and we had loaded up the van and were on our way by 9:30am!

After a quick stop, a few tears, a couple of hugs, I love yous and see you soons, we were back on the road.  Now we don’t have it planned to do more than 2 to 3 hours of driving at a time on our way down to Florida, except after 7pm, when the babies will be sleeping.  But for this trip back we made the decision to drive the full 9 hours in one afternoon.  Yeah that kind of sucked!  I was the one who sat in the back of the van taking care of Carson and Courtney the whole way.  Needless to say there were more than ready to be out of the van by the time we got to Foster.

Shockingly we didn’t make any major stops on the drive there, and Pat says we got 19.5 mpg.  I am extremely impressed, but we were driving downhill the whole way.

For the next 12 days we will be at the Reikofski‘s (Pat’s parents) until we head to Omaha on the 30th.  We hand Gabe over to the Army by 3pm Monday July 30th, he officially ships off to basic on the 31st.
