When our soldier son came home for Christmas Exodus we headed over to Disney’s Shades of Green because Walt Disney World has a great deal for Military Members, but the catch with it – the Military Special passes are blacked out the the whole week of Christmas, which really bites, but more about that later. While we were at SOG we learned that there are many free and reduced priced attractions offered to our service men and women. Universal Studios Orlando impressed us the most with offering active duty military members 3 day park to park passes for FREE. But best yet, they have no blackout dates! You heard me correctly. So we were able to take our Soldier Son and His Marine best friend to Universal Studios on Christmas Eve and Day.
Here are the current Military Offerings for the Central Florida area:
- Walt Disney World:
- Universal Studios:
- Anheuser-Busch Here’s to the Hero Salute: Throughout 2013, any active duty, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman is entitled to a free one time admission at either SeaWorld®, Busch Gardens®, Adventure Island®, Water Country USA®, or Sesame Place® for military personnel and as many as three direct dependants. – Now the woman at DSOG told us that this pass is actually good for an entire year, not just one day. I will call Sea World tomorrow to check on this, and let everyone know.
- Gatorland: I will posting the form for this, but they offer free admission to active military members.
I will continue to update this post as I gather more information and scan the forms in.
We’ve been to Busch Gardens in VA and Seaworld in Orlando with their pass. 3 years ago it was a free day pass to soldiers and all family members.
