SeaWorld Orlando’s All New Shamu’s Celebration, Light Up The Night Show

June 21, 2014 by Aunesty Reikofski Leave a Comment

Last night we got to see the final dress rehearsal of the all new Shamu’s Celebration; Light up the Night show at SeaWorld Orlando.  This new orca, dancing and fireworks show brings  extended park hours and nighttime only shows June 21 through August 10.Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night

The show was lively and full of music.  Courtney squealed and clapped and danced through the entire show.  Carson was also entertained and watched the whole show.  A few times we had to make sure we were pointing out what where the orcas were, due to the fact that we were sitting dead center and what seemed like most of the show took place to the sides.Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night

One of the main things I noticed from Shamu’s Celebration was all the interaction between the orcas and their trainers.  There is even a portion of the show, referred to as the quiet time, where trainer Shanna and Orca, Katina share what feels like a very special moment.  The hugs, cuddles and kisses from Shanna to Katina are endearing to watch.  I noticed what seemed like a lot more hands on physical contact between the trainers and orcas during the show, and it was very nice to see.  I knew the trainers “loved on” the orcas backstage, but I was thrilled to see them bring the hugs and kisses to the new Light Up the Night Show.Shamu's Celebration: Light up the NightShamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night

The Light Up the Night Show seemed to focus heavily on making sure the front side rows got soaked.  While that is fun to watch a few times, it did seem a little over board.  I will let you judge for yourself in the video below {coming soon}. But if you are heading to see this show and want to get wet, just sit in the front sides, but don’t bring anything that can’t get wet with you, as you will get drenched.Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night

The music was great, very lively and one of the best parts of the show was watching the trainers dance.  We could not believe how energetic they were and that they all danced the entire show.  All in all SeaWorld’s Shamu’s Celebration; Light up the Night Show is definitely worth sticking around the park at night this summer to see.Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night Shamu's Celebration: Light up the Night

The end of the show is truly spectacular as the sky behind the stadium fills with Fireworks.  It was truly a great show and one we will be visiting several times over the summer.
