July 15, 1995 — Disney’s Wedding Pavilion opens at the Walt Disney World Resort
Couples exchange vows with views of Cinderella Castle and the Seven Seas Lagoon on an island near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. With classical arrangements of the most romantic Disney songs accompanying the ceremony and Cinderella’s Coach as the royal transportation, Disney’s Wedding Pavilion gives couples a magical setting to celebrate their own “happily ever after. ” Since the first destination wedding venue at the Walt Disney World Resort opened, more than 2,300 couples have tied the knot each year with a fairytale wedding at the resort.
July 15, 2005 — Turtle Talk with Crush opens at Disney California Adventure
If you have ever wondered what life is like in the big blue world of the ocean, Crush from Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo is the turtle to talk to. With the help of a high-tech “hydrophone, ” parentals and their offspring can share a totally improvised conversation with Crush to learn about the ocean and how to talk like a sea turtle. Crush might even have a few questions from his son, Squirt, about the human world. The show employs state-of-the-art computer-graphic imagery for an interactive experience under the sea.
