Florida Bucket List – What to See, Do and Experience at least Once

January 22, 2016 by Aunesty Reikofski 1 Comment

Since we are determined to experience Florida and as many of the wonderful things this state has to offer, we thought it would be a good starting point to make a list of all the things we all ready know we want to do.  We are calling this our Florida Bucket List Revisited, as we previously made a Florida bucket list and realized how many things we are missing….  I am sure we are missing things, and as such, this list will be changing throughout our quest to complete it.  Will we get it all done?  Who knows, but one must have goals, and well we think this list is a great goal.

Our Florida Buckete List

  1. Walt Disney World Florida – this encompasses so much and has it’s own bucket list
    1. My Inappriorate WDW Bucket List
  2. Universal Studios Orlando
  3. SeaWorld Orlando
  4. Legoland Florida
  5. Gatorland
  6. Bok Gardens
  7. The Orlando Eye – Aunesty is scared of heights…
  8. Central Florida Natural Springs
  9. Airboat Swamp Tour
  10. Deep Sea Fishing
  11. Helicopter tour over the Central Florida Theme Parks
  12. Visit the Florida Everglades
  13. See a Rocket Launch
  14. Visit all the National Parks
  15. Camp on the Beach
  16. Swim with Dolphins
  17. Visit as many of the National Florida Landmarks as possible (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_National_Historic_Landmarks_in_Florida)
  18. Bio-Luminescent Kayaking
  19. Cocoa Beach
  20. NASA
  21. Vero Beach
  22. Witness Sea Turtle Eggs Hatching
  23. Drive the entire coastline
  24. Visit each of the Florida Keys
  25. Shell Hunting on as many beaches as possible
  26. Shark Tooth Hunting on Venice Beach
  27. See Orange Juice being made
  28. Visit all the Zoos in Florida (http://www.officialusa.com/stateguides/zoos/florida.html)
  29. Visit as many of the Florida Natural Springs as we can (http://www.floridasprings.org/visit/)
  30. Visit the capital building in Tallahassee

Aunesty’s Photographing Florida Bucket List

  1. Capture Sunset and Sunrise from as many beaches as possible
  2. the Milky Way from Key West
  3. the Milky Way from the Everglades
  4. as many natural Florida animals as I can
  5. Sunset from a boat
  6. Fireworks over the ocean
  7. Campfire on the beach
  8. Wild Florida Orchids
  9. City scape shots from each of Florida Coastal Cities
  10. a Rocket Launch
  11. Bio-Luminescence in the water
  12. as many of the military forts and historic sites as I can
  13. Natural Springs at night and during the day
  14. Night photographs of the Capital building

When I read this list, it feels so daunting to me, but I know if we put our mind to it, we can get all of these items done.  There are several that really don’t require a full roadtrip, but rather a day trip from Walt Disney World, or as we are calling it, Traveling on a Tankful – 20 Day trips from Disney World on one tankful of gas.   Those will be the vast majority of what we cover over the next 12 months, but we are also hoping to cross off some of our bigger Florida Bucket list items.

Great ideas! But I think you should add swimming with manatees. I took this tour a couple of years ago, and it was among the best experience of my life. I am not a morning person, so 6 a.m. was very early on a vacation, but totally worth it. There is a motel right next door, which makes getting to a 6 a.m. tour easier!https://www.birdsunderwater.com/#/tours/manatees
P.S. They are not paying me to say this!
