We got to attend the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party at Magic Kingdom on 11/08/13. This was our second time attending MVMCP but this year was the first time we sat and watched the parade and fireworks. *WARNING this is a really LONG post due to all the pictures, so just keep scrolling!
The snow on Main Street this year was pretty intense! At one point it was so thick it was like being back home in a snow blizzard! Except WDW snow stings when it gets in your eyes!
When we first got there we found GREAT seats up in the Train Station overlooking Main Street and had our friend John from BigFatPanda.com help us save the seats. I remembered that last year it was a little chilly during the party, so this year I brought a couple of blankets with us and boy was I glad! It was down right freezing!
While waiting for the parade both babies fell asleep, so Pat and I decided to head down for the free cookies and hot cocoa. The crowds on Main Street were gruesome! Everyone was waiting on the parade. But, once past Main Street it really wasn’t so bad. We stopped at all the cookie locations from Tomorrowland to Frontierland and even grabbed extras (I brought a Ziploc Baggie with me), that way we could bring John some treats.
Last year there were two different types of cookies, snickerdoodles and chocolate chip, this year they were only handing out snickerdoodles. The cookies were perfectly cooked, soft and moist and so delicious! Yes I ate at least four by myself! The free hot chocolate, was once again, perfect as well. It was creamy and hot. Not too hot, though, just that perfect hot that allows you drink it when it is served.
We wanted to do some character meet and greets, but were unsuccessful at our attempt. It was really too cold to hang out in one location too long, and with both Carson and Courtney asleep we decided not to wait in any lines. We also missed the Castle Stage show, I did manage to catch about 5 minutes of it, and took a couple photos of it. Next year the Castle Stage Show is a must do for us.
The Parade however, was AWESOME! I completely LOVED the Kringle Crew! They were a group of cast members who came out with giant beach balls and played with the kids in the audience to help warm everyone up for the parade.
I watched both parades that night, the first one from on top of the Train Station and the second time from the cross roads on Main Street (which has now become my FAVORITE parade viewing spot). I did find that I liked the pictures I took from the ground much more than the ones from up high, so those are the ones I am going to share with you.
The Holiday Wishes Firework show was breath taking! I just love it when Disney does the 360 degree fireworks, and once again they brought me to tears. I did take a few short videos of the show, but even with photos and video it just isn’t the same as being there, But Big Fat Panda truly captured it best….
