This is an opinion vent post:
How many time have you heard in the parks, or even said, “OMG, that kid is what like 8 and is in a stroller?” And then walked away judging that family. Whose damn business is it if that kid is 12 and still occasionally needs to use assistance in the parks. I plan on packing our double stroller as long as they are still using it, even if they are 8. Saves me headaches of the whining of my feet hurt, are we almost done, blisters, because tired kids cause me to miss fireworks.
I am just so done with others deciding what is best for another family. You don’t know their situation. You don’t know them. So focus on your own damn family and make memories with them instead of judging others. Imagine how much more fun you could be having. Walt Disney World is about spending time with your family in case you needed a reminder
Disney Parks, while intended for the young and young at heart, can be unduly onerous for the young, with sprawling distances and long lines. Still, if you must have a stroller in the park, please:
1)Do not run over my foot like that one oblivious mother did.
2)Do not park it and abandon it right in the view of things others would like an unobstructed photo of.
3)Do not block the passage of others with it.
4)Do not waste valuable parade/fireworks viewing space with a ginormous stroller you do not even need.
Basically be as thoughtful of others as you want them to be of you.
Thank you
100% Agree. just left disney and my 7 yr old shared my with her 3.yr old brother a double stroller. thank God for that stroller. walking the parks hurt my feet let alome yheir little feet.
For sure! We get tired of walking, the kids definitely do!!! And who has the energy to carry a sleepy child at the end of the day?! Not to mention the stroller can carry all my bags , jackets ,etc!
The only time I have ever “judged” was seeing someone change their kids dirty diaper in the QS seating area and then try to leave it. Yes I was very vocal. Those types I will judge. Strollers, ecv’s, wheelchairs etc are not my business.
I agree 100%. My son is 8 and autistic. We use a stroller all the time. He also has a chewy and headphones that he occasionally uses. He also has meltdowns over any number of things. Yes, he is old enough to know better but he doesn’t understand. I wish people would mind their own damn business or offer support or even ask questions instead of just judging. From a mom who is trying her best
I used a stroller with my 9 yr old, so much easier then them crying there tired or feet hurt..makes for a more enjoyable vacation for us & those around us !!! keep doing what your doing, people are never happy.. 🙂
Seriously?! I agree, walking around a park all day takes a lot of energy even for the most energetic kids! The strollers are great to pack around all your stuff that you tend to accumulate as you’re walking around too.
I wish my kids were still small enough to sit in the stroller! I just get tired of hauling around all our crap lol!
I totally agree with you, I have used a stroller every year and my daughter just turned 8 and I am still taking a stroller this year I don’t care what people say I would rather have a happy trip and a daughter who is not tired and cranky so she can enjoy as much as possible. Keep smiling and enjoy the magic.
Amen
