We rolled into Orlando a day early! Yeah go us! I can’t believe that babies were so good for the three days in the van. Since we got in early, we decided to go ahead and do two nights at a WDW Resort instead of just heading over to our two bedroom suite. I really wanted to go to the Caribbean, but since we had never stayed at the Port Orleans, we went ahead and booked it. Also, since the Port Orleans Riverside was all completely renovated all the rooms now have two queens instead of two doubles, and are well new’ish. Boy she wasn’t kidding either. Our room smelled of new carpet! It was great!
The rooms all had a “Princess and The Frog” theme. Down in the Bayou. I am so glad we decided to stay here! The river walk, the hotel bar, the room, the big pool, and so much more… it was all done to Disney standards.
Our room was large enough to sleep 5 – two per queen bed, and a there was a bench that folded out to make a single bed. I love that the room had a refrigerator in it, and that I didn’t have to ask to have one sent down like we used to have to do. Housekeeping left a towel flower on one of the beds, and a little washcloth mouse on the sink.
Our first night there, we decided to head to Magic Kingdom for a bit, then returned to the hotel. We hadn’t eaten dinner, so we walked to the Dining Hall and enjoyed a couple of quick dining meals. I loved that they had a little area for Carson to sit and watch a movie and color while we ate. That was so handy!
While this isn’t a full review, I wanted to post a little something about this wonderful resort. I would completely recommend it to a family heading to WDW!
We also had a drink in the River Roost Bar and got to catch a little show – It was Great!
