So the new Diagon Alley portion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter introduced a couple of new brews, Dragon Scale and Wizard’s Brew. As I am not a real beer drinker, I only drink ciders, I can’t speak to the taste directly, but Pat is a beer drinker and had no problem doing a taste test of these two new brews.
Pat says the Dragon Scale is very similar to an IPA but not as hoppy. For Pat’s palette he says it was a “strong beer, a beer he wouldn’t drink more than one of” as he is a light beer or lager beer drinker and the Dragon Scale was more of a dark ale.
The Wizard’s Brew is not a beer that Pat would enjoy, as it is a stout beer similar to a Guinness. I questioned a nice couple from Australia, who were enjoying the Wizard’s Brew, and they agreed it was very much a stout beer, heavy and hearty.

Here’s our video of an inside look at The Fountain of Fair Fortune:

A view of The Hopping Pot:
Dragon scale is nothing like an IPA in the sense that it is an Amber beer and Amber beers are nothing like IPAs. A more appropriate comparison would be Killian’s Amber.
