Wordless Wednesday – Disney Weenies, Not What you Think!

August 20, 2013 by Aunesty Reikofski 8 Comments

Have you ever heard of a Disney Weenie?  Until today, I never had.  Thanks to Deb over at Focused on the Magic for introducing this new term into my vocabulary!

So NO a Disney Weenie is NOT the person in your party who takes the chicken exit on the Tower of Terror or Rock’n Roller Coaster, or even Expedition Everest.  Rather a Disney Weenie are the iconic buildings around the parks.  Deb put it best:
A Weenie is what Walt Disney and his Imagineers called the iconic structures or focal points in each of the Disney parks and lands. They are big enough to be seen from a distance and interesting enough to draw you closer for a better look. Examples would be Spaceship Earth, Space Mountain, Big Thunder, The Sorcerer’s Hat, The Tree of Life and all the wonderful castles to name a few.
So our Disney Weenie Choice for today comes from Hollywood Studios – Tower of Terror.  Every time I see the TOT I immediately am taken back to my first visit to Walt Disney World.  The first time I rode it with my two older children, Angel and Gabe.  The smiles, the laughter and the memories from that first experience will forever stick with me.

A weenie that brings out the weenie in some guests, particularly my other half. Great choice!
